About the Alliance Queer Emergency Aid

We support queer people in need.

We stand up for queer people who are in acute need, organize support for local LGBTIQ* communities, and advocate politically for the protection of their human rights.

We, that is people from non-governmental organizations, initiatives as well as committed individuals. Our initiative grew out of the alliance “Queer Emergency Ukraine“, which has been working to support queer communities on the ground since the war of aggression on Ukraine began.

The alliance “Queer Emergency Aid Uganda” ties in with this work, because after the passing of the “Anti-Homosexuality Law” in the summer of 2023, queer people in Uganda are in acute need and urgently require emergency aid.

Our goal is always queer solidarity worldwide, because the plight of queer people is increasing instead of decreasing in many countries. Whether in Russia, Chechnya, Afghanistan, Syria, Turkey or Iran (to name just a few), queer people everywhere are persecuted, imprisoned or even have to fear for their lives.

We do not stand idly by while people who have hardly any lobby anyway are harassed by politics and societies and deprived of their human rights. We show solidarity with our communities worldwide, from which we ourselves come, and try to provide support on a political, emotional and financial level.
